Eagle Nest Lodge Season's Newsletter -Early April 2007

Fishing opener is just a week away and we’re ready for you. We wanted to send out a quick note letting you know we’re ready and reminding you of some new improvements for 2007.
The Ice Went Out!
The ice went out on Lake Winnie on Thursday April 26. It’s a definite sign of spring; one we look forward to each year.
New Deluxe Boat
We are pleased to announce that we have just purchased another Deluxe boat for the resort – this makes four deluxe boats. The other boats have been so popular and we wanted to make sure that families and fishers were able to access the boats when they wanted. Early season visitors will get to take the new boat out for the debut spins around the lake.
Need a Mid-Week Break?
If you can take off mid week we’d like to offer you a bargain – 4 nights for the price of 3. Available Sundays through Thursdays between May 20-31. Call us for details or check online for cabin availability: http://rezstream.net/booking_availability/wfUnitsTwoWeek.aspx?acct=6035&prop=6093
Ceiling Fans
We are fans of ceiling fans and we are sure you will be too. We are adding ceiling fans to the bedrooms of the cabins to help cool off on hot nights! (It’s actually raining as we write this so we’re just enjoying the thought of a hot night.)
Speaking of Hot Nights
We still have openings for some peak weeks in June and July. Give us a call if you’re planning to visit us. Or if you have a friend, please send them our way. Refer a new customer that reserves a cabin for a full week in 2007, and we will reward you with $100.00 in Eagle Nest Bonus Bucks! Refer a new customer that stays for less than a week and receive $50.00 in Eagle Nest Bonus Bucks. Learn more on our site: http://www.eaglenestlodge.net/bigbucks.htm.
WiFi at ENL
Good news for those who like to stay connected. We put WiFi in at the resort. You should be able to get online using your laptop from your cabin porch – you just have to promise no work on vacation!
Lead-free Please
We wanted to remind our fishers that Eagle Nest Lodge is making a push for lead-free tackle on our lakes. We will be stocking lead free jigs and sinkers this year. Lead poisoning kills many wild birds each year...loons, ducks and geese, and eagles are all victims of lead poisoning when they eat jigs or sinkers from the bottom of the lake, or eat animals with lead in them (shot in birds or jigs in fish). The MN DNR has an interesting article concerning this matter. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ecological_services/nongame/projects/leadout.html
Take Care!
