We’re having a busy summer! We wanted to share some of what’s happening…

4th of July Party
Eagle Nest Lodge hosted its annual 4th of July party on Sunday, the 5th.  It featured Swing Delivery, a REAL big band that Bryan plays in. They play great standards from the big band era.  We offer drinks and snacks and invite resort guests, friends and neighbors to our afternoon celebration.  We had a perfect day for a party.  Everyone had a good time.  Make plans for next year and get in on the fun.  The party will be on Sunday, July 4th, 2010!

Wakeboard camp
10,000 Wakes, a wakeboard camp from the Twin Cities, came to Eagle Nest Lodge for a 3 day overnight wakeboard camp July 9-12.  They arrived with 2 big, beautiful boats, fantastic counselors and coaches, and food for the 14 campers who attended.  These kids had a great experience, with valuable teaching and lots of time on the water.  6-time world champion wakeboarder, Darin Shapiro, was a special guest for the camp and offered clinics and coaching for the kids.  We saw amazing tricks and lots of big air.  It went so well, that we have started planning for another camp (and maybe 2!) for next year.  Stay tuned for dates and registration information.

Digital Photography class
On July 12-14th, we hosted another special event, a digital photography class.  The class was offered free to our guests and led by John Piepkorn, a photographer/artist at Edge Advertising in the Twin Cities.  John is a very knowledgeable and fun teacher who led his students through many aspects of digital photography.  They learned about camera settings and when to use them.  They covered composition and the artistic aspect of good photographs.  They discussed online sharing and other computer tools that photographers can use, many of which have no fees.  All of the students found these classes very useful and were excited to put them to use.  We plan to offer another clinic next summer.  Please visit www.eaglenestlodge.net for updates and registration information.

The Season is still going strong!
We have a 25% weekly discount from August 22-September 12.  And fall fishing and hunting is right around the corner.
