cabin 11This one goes to 11
We're still working on cabin 11. It's been fun to watch the progress and we're looking forward to seeing it completed this spring. You can check out the progress online. http://eaglenestlodge.net/cabin_11.htm If you're interested in being one of the first families to rent the cabin this year, please give us a call. (It sleeps up to 14.)

Old Cabin, New Number
Speaking of progress, we're also remodeling cabin 13 and renaming it as cabin #12.  We will no longer have a #13.  The "new" cabin #12 will have 2 queen beds and 3 twin beds (no bunk beds!).  Watch for progress on the website this winter.

2010 Rates Now Online
We just posted the 2010 rates online: http://eaglenestlodge.net/rates2010.html If you have any questions, please contact us.

Cleaner Air
Our resolution for 2010 is to go smoke free. That means smoking will no longer be allowed inside any of the buildings on the resort.  Here's to healthier living for many vacations to come!

ENL Holiday Quiz
What is the history behind kissing under the mistletoe?

Thanks!  Bryan, Sue, Gunnar, and Anneka Harris and all of the staff at Eagle Nest Lodge

Quiz answer: In Norse mythology, Baldr was a god of vegetation. His mother Frigga, prompted by a prophetic dream, made every plant, animal and inanimate object promise not to harm him. But Frigga overlooked the mistletoe plant — and the mischievous god Loki took advantage of this oversight, tricking the blind god Höðr into killing Baldr with a spear fashioned from mistletoe. Baldr's death brought winter into the world, until the gods restored him to life. Frigga declared the mistletoe sacred, ordering that from now on it should bring love rather than death into the world. Happily complying with Frigga's wishes, any two people passing under the plant from now on would celebrate Baldr's resurrection by kissing under the mistletoe.
