Eagle Nest Lodge - Bird Watcing in Deer River / Grand Rapics
We want to thank some of our favorite bird watching guests for the following info. We were amazed at the bird species right under our nose.
FYI and the interest of any birding enthusiasts you have visiting the lodge...we identified the following species during our week with you; all between the entrance to the lodge and the lake area where the beaver dam is that the geese nest on; on both sides of the road. So much activity in that short distance!
Warblers:
- American Redstart (Adult and Immature males)
- Blackburnian (Spring male)
- Black and White (Spring male)
- Chestnut Sided (Spring male)
- Common Yellowthroat (Males)
- Myrtle (Spring male)
- Yellow (Males and Females)
Others:
- Baltimore Oriole
- Blue Jay
- Cedar Waxwing
- Chipping Sparrows
- Downy Woodpeckers
- Green Heron (adult and juvenile)
- Northern Flicker
- Red Breasted Nuthatch
- Ruby Throated Hummingbirds
