Eagle Nest Lodge - About our family resort
Generations of Memories
Eagle Nest Lodge was built in 1924 by Herb and Jessie Bowen. They built
three resorts in the area, Cutfoot Sioux Inn, Bowen Lodge and Eagle Nest
Lodge. Eagle Nest Lodge started as a fishing camp with it’s first
cabins being moved from Cutfoot Sioux Inn to Eagle Nest Lodge via frozen
lake. Customers would arrive by train in to Deer River, MN and then take
a truck ride 20 miles north to Cutfoot Sioux Lake. The dam was not built
at the time, so Cutfoot Sioux Lake and Lake Winnibigoshish were two separate
bodies of water.
As the years went by, Eagle Nest Lodge transformed into more than just
a fishing camp. We now cater to the serious fisherman as well as families.
Our natural setting is one of a kind, offering the vacationer world class
walleye fishing, a one of a kind natural beach and family fun.
Generations of memories abound due to Eagle Nest Lodge’s dedication
to reaching and exceeding it’s customer’s needs. Each year
we learn about more and more wonderful people that once spent time at
our resort and come back to relive the memories. Each year we also host
families that have been coming here for generations, some for over 50
years!
